January 13th and we’re hitting 40 degrees already! I know most of the people reading this are in the UK or in the north east of the USA so would probably welcome a couple of hot days – but, believe me, I’d give a lot for a week of rain...

Looks like we’ll be supplementary feeding before long, luckily we were able to cut a lot of hay back in the spring.

  1. We don't need a cooling down spray ! over here more like a hot water bottle !..

  2. Hi Jayne,

Hopefully a bit cooler today, there's a bushfire going on the Eyre Peninsula at the moment Link to news story. It's no risk to us, but they're having a hard time of it over there. I think it's going to be a worrying fire season this year.

The water in the background is a dam. That's a bit like a small, man-made reservoir. Lots of farms have them (that one's on a neighbour's property). We don't have mains water or drainage so have to use alternative sources. Perry

  3. Perry,

Love the photos, any chance you could send about 15 degrees of that heat up here to the motherland? We will reciprocate with a load of wind and rain!

  4. Hi Mark,

Consider it done... With current export controls and the postal system, it should be with you by about the second week in August
